LMDA Dry Agar

Multi-differential agar for a variety of bacteria, including those found in beer.

Procedure and interpretation:

  1. Mix 84.8g of the medium in one litre of purified water until evenly dispersed.
  2. Heat to boiling with repeated stirring to dissolve completely.
  3. Distribute and autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes.
  4. Cool to 45-50°C and pour agar plates.

NOTE: To inhibit growth of culture yeast and select Lactobacilli, you must add 10 mg/L cycloheximide after autoclaving.

Final pH: 5.3 +/- 0.2 at 25ºC
