WLN Dry Agar

Agar medium used for cultivating yeasts, molds and bacteria encountered in brewing and industrial fermentation processes.

Procedure and interpretation:

  1. Mix 80.2g of the medium in one litre of purified water until evenly dispersed.
  2. Heat to boiling with repeated stirring to dissolve completely.
  3. Distribute and autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes.
  4. Cool to 45-50°C and pour agar plates.

Final pH: 5.3 +/- 0.2 at 25ºC
