Job Role
As Bookkeeper you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting our accounting operations. This role encompasses a range of responsibilities including, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, month-end reconciliations, and financial analysis. The goal of this position is to ensure financial reports are accurate and up to date and enable the company’s leaders to make sound business decisions and meet the company’s objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Process all financial transactions including customer invoices, vendor bills and deposits.
- Maintain an accurate record keeping system for all financial statements and company documents.
- Monitor finance email inbox and respond to customers and vendors in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare monthly financial reports including bank reconciliations and period-end accounting entries.
- Provide accurate and timely planning and forecasting activities to management in order to maintain cash flow targets and track company goals.
- Process bi-weekly payroll and all related payroll documentation.
- Monitor financial details to ensure legal compliance.
- Assist management to make financial decisions.
- Liaise with external financial stakeholders (e.g. bankers, accountants), as required.
- Support the purchasing function and ensure that costs are tracked accurately.
- Review and process vendor payments of the company.
- Prepare GST/HST, WSIB and EHT returns for filing.
- Revise and create Standard Operating Procedures as necessary.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of financial reporting experience
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Previous payroll experience.
- Experience with Google Suite, and payment applications. Experience with Netsuite preferred.
- Effective written and oral communication in a fast-paced environment. Able to provide concise, organized, and complete information to management and coworkers.
- Ability to deliver high-quality customer experience within a culture of continuous improvement.
- Must understand the business case and have a strong commitment to quality and delivering a top-notch customer experience.
- Embraces an entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving and change management

This is a full-time, permanent position with work from home (hybrid) opportunity. At our company, we prioritize creating a positive work environment. We offer competitive compensation, paid sick leave, healthcare spending account, and free beer. Additionally, we firmly believe in prioritizing a healthy work/life balance for our employees.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $53,000-57,000 per year.
